Chief Standing Cloud
Chief Standing Cloud is a Lakota spiritual leader. His teaching began when he was five years old growing up on Pine Ridge. Some consider him a shaman or medicine man.
He considers himself to be a 'hollow bone', or 'an instrument for Creator'. He regularly runs a Medicine Lodge in Kansas.
"The Medicine Lodge, or Inipi, is like the womans womb. When it is entered, you are entering into the creators world. Inside, there can be physical, emotional and spiritual healing."
Chief becomes a vessel for spirit to facilitate things to the individuals as needed. He also does many house cleansing, naming ceremonies, public speaking, vision quests, medicine wheel ceremonies and many other Native American aspects.
He is known by the children to be a friend and grandpa, taking in any child that needs guidance, support, or teachings to help them go through life tragedies.

WINTER COUNT
limited edition print & shirt

"This drawing is a form of Winter Count. I grew up with this and was taught by the elders. Winter Count is a form of a story. The stories on the shirts shown depict healing, teaching of life lessons, past, present, future. Symbolically dreams of individuals. The Chanupa, or ceremonial pipe, is the form of prayer to creator and the smoke goes up for this. It is similar to walking with a bible in the hand. The buffalo are for abundancy of peoples prayers, they are strong and head into a storm. The buffalo shown are in four directions with the turtle in the center for balance and representing the mother earth. The cross is for the cross roads of all peoples all over the world. The circle on the stem of the pipe is for a medicine wheel. The medicine wheel can bring healing to the human body, mind, and spirit. The dangling diamond shape is like the eye to the creator or the third eye we all carry.
The color black represents the West, the unknown and the mystery's of life.
The color red represents the North, new beginnings or the blood of life.
The color white represents the South, the spirit world, purity and wisdom.
The color yellow represents the East and symbolizes clarity, new beginnings, new life, new day and new birth."
